My Inside/ Outside Self
By Ruby, Fourth Grade, Speas Elementary School

Look at me and you see that I am relaxed. I am interested in learning new stuff that I haven’t known. I am a gentle and careful person.

On the inside what you can’t see is that I feel great because I am the big sister. Sometimes I feel sad when something happens to the family, like when a stranger came into the house or when the apartments were burning.

As I move through the outside world, I notice that some people get burned when the apartments get burned. I also notice some people don’t have homes and some people are poor.

On the inside I wonder if others notice I am a cheerful and nice person. I care for other people’s feelings. I am very nice to people.

Seeing me from the outside, I look like a person who loves basketball and sometimes soccer. I love my family members and my friends. I love playing with my little niece.

Knowing me from the inside, I am also a person who dreams of becoming a teacher or a nurse. I love playing teacher and sometimes I play librarian.
